Food Donations

Nothing makes my day, more than when I am greeted at the door with donations of food left on the doorstep for our Backpack Kiddos.  It's so heartwarming to know that there are others out there thinking of these kiddos, and know that every single item counts when you are a hungry child.

 

The most asked question that I get is, "What kind of food do you need?" I have a "go-to" of foods that I pack, but I LOVE ideas from others. The biggest thing is that it needs to have a shelf life and not require refrigeration. I know that the kids appreciate anything they get, but I try to mix things up from week to week. Here is a list of things that we would love to continue to see donated: 

  • Boxes of Mac and Cheese

  • Instant Mac and Cheese

  • Canned soups

  • Tuna

  • Canned Chicken

  • Tuna/Chicken Helper

  • Canned Chili

  • Canned/Cup veggies

  • Cup O Noodles

  • Instant Teriyaki meals 

  • Instant Hispanic/Rice Meals

  • Easy to prepare noodle style dishes

  • Pasta

  • Spaghetti Sauce

  • Alfredo Sauce

  • Individual Snack Sized Peanut Butter

  • Z Bars

  • Beef Jerky

  • Peanut Butter

  • Jelly

  • Fruit Cups/ Canned Fruit

  • Veggie Cups

  • boxes of Instant Oatmeal packets

  • Boxes of Cereal individual sized or large

  • Breakfast bars

  • Granola Bars

  • Individual size chips/pretzels

  • Peanuts

  • Loaves of Bread

  • Bagels 

  • Shake and Pour Pancake Mix

  • Syrup

  • Cracker type Snacks 

  • Individual Treats ( cookies, rice crispy treats )

Any snack that you can think of that your child would like, basically will work and be very welcomed! If you can please email or call to let me know that you either dropped by food or mailed it, that would be great!
